Keep Your Oven Door Closed When Baking

Have you been guilty of opening the oven door earlier than you should’ve? We know the temptation to check on your cake is high, but we’re here to give you one of our top tips: don’t open the oven when baking.

This is a common mistake, and can cause your cake to collapse because the rush of cold air stops your caking from rising.

Leave the oven closed for at least 3/4 of the cooking time, and then when you do check the cake, if it still needs more baking wait at least 5-10 minutes before opening the oven again.

If you cake looks to be browning too fast on the top, but needs more time to cook, then place some foil over your cake to keep it from getting a burned top.

Keep that oven door closed as long as you can, it’ll be worth it in the long run!
