How to Cut Brownies?

Do you find when you try to cut your brownies they become crumbly or ragged? We can show you how to achieve razor sharp edges for when you want to shape or cut your brownies, so they look as good as they taste.

  1. The first thing you need to do is give your brownies time to cool down. This means letting them completely cool to room temperature, and if you’re after perfection, popping them in the fridge for a few hours.
  2. Remove your brownies from the tray. It’s far easier to get an even cut if you’re not having to angle your knife to accommodate the edges of your cooking pan.
  3. You’ll need a sharp and cold knife (or cookie cutter). Don’t heat up your knife, especially if you have chocolate chips in your recipe, it’ll just make the chocolate messy.
  4. If you want your brownies to be even, we suggest getting a ruler and marking cross sections of where you want your knife to go.
  5. Clean your knife of crumbs after every cut using a tea towel or paper towel to ensure your edges don’t become ‘fluffy’.
