All You Need Is ...
- 1 box Betty Crocker™ Chocolate Swirl Cake
- 90 ml vegetable oil (6 tbsp)
- 210 ml water
- 3 medium free range eggs
- 1 tub Betty Crocker™ Buttercream Style Icing
With more swirls than a Catherine Wheel on Bonfire Night, this chocolate swirl cake recipe is sure to delight and is a great addition to any celebration!
Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C for fan assisted ovens) / Gas Mark 4.
Mix the eggs, oil, water and cake mix gently together and whisk (by hand or electric mixer) for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy. Remove 8 tablespoons of the mixture, place in a small bowl and set aside.
Pour the cake mix evenly into your two greased cake tins. Empty the chocolate sachet into the mixture you set aside and stir well. Then spoon this into the mixture in the tin and using a rounded knife, gently swirl through.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 23-28 minutes or until a rounded knife inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean, then cool on your cooling rack.
Spread Betty’s Chocolate Buttercream Style Icing lavishly across the bottom cake and sandwich together. Then swirl more icing over the top and sides for a chocolate extravaganza…Sensational!
